Earliest Barrow AFC memory
I remember my third or fourth game I was taken to as a 5 year old in late 1970, when Barrow entertained Newport County in Division 4.
It was thick snow so we couldn't drive to the game, so we got the bus to the top of Cemetery hill and walked down, getting there about 5 minutes late. On arrival at the old grandstand turnstiles, the usual kindly gateman told us we were "one nil down". My dad explained that we were "next to bottom of the league and Newport bottom". Anyway we recovered to win 2 or 3-1 and the players got so muddy by half time they had to come out in a new kit for the second half !!!
I can also still remember vividly, as a six year old, the day we were kicked out of the Football League in June 1972. I didn't really understand what re-election etc meant, but knew something bad had happened when they showed Holker Street on BBC Look North, as it was then !!

Highlight of recent seasons
It is difficult to name just one as there have been so many. Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Wembley were obviously the pinnacle and were massive achievements for the club.

However just being established now, after three seasons, as a Conference club is probably the biggest achievement of all.

It really is the only place to be! Going to grounds like Mansfield, Wrexham and Luton now just seems normal, but three seasons ago it was only a dream. To see our wonderful travelling supporters singing their hearts out at these grounds is brilliant and makes all the hard work behind the scenes worthwhile.

To be told by a former Premier League referee that Oxford found us the most hospitable club in the Conference a few seasons ago gives us tremendous pride too.

Other information/Interests
I love watching most sports too, especially Cricket and American Football. I have been a member of Lancashire County Cricket Club since 1987.
