Érico Sousa has joined the Bluebirds on an initial one month loan deal!
Portuguese midfielder Sousa, 23, started his career at Manchester City who he joined at the age of 15.
From City he joined Barnsley’s academy, where he progressed until he was released and joined Hyde United, then of the Conference North, in the season that the Bluebirds won the league title.
He scored twice in 14 appearances for the Tigers, before playing 30 games for NK Celje in the Slovenian PrvaLiga.
A return to England followed with a one month spell at Tadcaster Albion before he was snapped up by Stanley in January 2017. Unfortunately, Sousa wasn’t able to make any appearances due to problems registering him as a player and he joined Tranmere Rovers.
He rejoined Accrington after being released by Tranmere at the end of the 2016/17 season and made his second debut for them in a checkatrade trophy game against Middlesbrough.
Érico is eligible to play at Bromley on Saturday, and is eligible to represent the Bluebirds in our upcoming FA Cup tie at Chorley.
Welcome to Barrow, Érico!
