(16)Mike began his career as a scholar with Oldham Athletic and made his way into the first team for the first time during the 2006-07 season. During last season he had a spell on loan with Farsley Celtic in the Blue Square Premier.
He was released by Oldham in the summer of 2008 and joined Barrow in July 2008, making his debut in the opening home win over Oxford United in the Blue Square Premier.
Mike unfortunately broke his leg in the F.A. Cup defeat at Middlesbrough in January 2009 but returned to first team action as a substitute on the opening day of the season. He was a member of the 2009-10 FA Trophy winning squad. Mike has also played with the Welsh Semi Professional international squad making his debut in the 2009-10 season.
