Barrow Make Three New Signings

Central defender Sean Hessey, and midfielders Garry Hunter & Alex-Ray Harvey have signed one year deals at Furness Building Society Stadium.

All have featured regularly in pre-season so far having been released by Football League clubs in the summer.

Hessey, 33, was formerly with Accrington Stanley and was a team-mate of Bayliss in their Chester days. His other former clubs include Macclesfield, Blackpool & Kilmarnock.

Hunter, 27, had been a regular at Morecambe for the past 9 seasons and was somewhat surprisingly released despite featuring 40 times for The Shrimps in League 2 and Cups last season.

Harvey needs no introduction to Barrow fans having had a successful three month loan spell from Burnley in the Spring, however The championship outfit chose not to offer the 21 year old a new deal.

Bayliss said "I am delighted that we have agreed terms with these three lads who have been training with us all summer. Sean & Garry have vast experience at Football League level and add an experienced spine to a young team, which is improved by the addition of Alex-Ray, who did well for us last season and who Ash (ley Hoskin) has coached since he was a nipper."

Bayliss is still chasing three half-season loan deals which he hopes to complete by the weekend.

Meanwhile an un-named trialist and named trialist Joe Holt, were on the scoresheet as Barrow beat Lancaster City 2-1 in a friendly at Giant Axe on Tuesday.
