Barrow AFC - BDF
Bluebird Development Fund
Welcome to the Bluebird Development Fund section of the website. The BDF are the fundraising group within the club and our aim is to raise as much as possible to help with the development of the club.
Our main activities are organising programme sales for the club, running match day raffles, including the Beer Raffle and Golden Goal and running the matchday shop on the West Terrace where replica shirts and other merchandise, old programmes, drinks etc can be bought. We also organise an annual sponsored walk, and run other fundraising efforts throughout the year.
We are always interested in welcoming new people to the group and looking at new ideas on how we can raise more money, so if you are interested in helping out or have an idea then please let us know. bdfbafc@googlemail.com or visit us in the shop inside the ground on a matchday.
We have helped the club in a variety of ways over the years, the most recent being to pay for the plans and planning application for the improvements being made to the Crossbar. A full list of our donations to the club will be available shortly.
BDF launch new fundraising initiative
The BDF are calling on all supporters to help them in their latest fundraising drive of recycling old mobile phones.
The BDF are looking for fans to donate their old, redundant mobile phones to help them raise money by collecting and recycling them.
Altrincham fans have run a similar scheme since February and have at the time of writing raised over £800 from 129 phones, Richard Ingham of the BDF is sure this is a figure that the Bluebirds fans could easily beat.
It is estimated that each household in the UK has an average of three old mobile lying around in drawers and cupboards so there should be plenty of phones out there. Ancient or the latest models, in perfect order or completely broken, ALL PHONES can be recycled so please let the BDF have them.
It couldnt be easier to get involved, just have a look around in your drawers and cupboards and if you find any old mobiles just take out the sim card and bring it with you to Holker Street and pop it into one of our collection boxes.
There are boxes in the BDF Shop and at the main reception area in the Crossbar. If anyone is unable to get to Holker Street but wants to help please send an email to bdfbafc@googlemail.com
