AFC Land Main Striker Target

Barrow have made a major swoop with the signing of Chester City striker, Nick Chadwick

Chadwick, 27, has signed an eighteen month contract with Barrow after being checked out by Barrow Physio, Liam Enright.

Chadwick began his career with Premier League, Everton, in 2001 making 14 appearances before being sold to Plymouth Argyle for GBP250,000 in 2005 after loan spells with Derby and Millwall.

He spent three years at Home Park before joining Hereford and then Shrewbury. He signed for Chester in August but has opted to move due the financial plight of the Deva Satdium outfit, having cancelled his contract there by mutual consent.

Barrow have beaten off competition from several other Southern clubs, with his wish to stay in the North for once playing to Barrow's advantage.

Chadwick is a major signing for the Holker Street outfit and joins his fellow former Chester colleague, Gregg Blundell, who made the same move recently.

Chadwick will be available for Saturday's trip to Rushden but is trophy-tied having played against Fleetwood in Chester's Round 1 home defeat.
