Welcome

Hello and welcome to the community side of the Barrow AFC official site.

For the many of you who don’t know, my name is Craig Rutherford, I am the Community Development Officer for the football club. I have been in the post for 12 months now and there has been a huge amount of work gone into to building the community iniative. I am taking this opportunity to introduce my small team of coaches who have helped with the delivery of many projects and coaching sessions.

Jason Walker needs no introduction as we all know about his achievements on the pitch. However Jason has become an integral part of the Community Initiative he has worked hard to help build relationships between the club, local schools and the local community. It’s refreshing to see players getting involved and hopefully as the season progresses we will see more of this.

Steven ‘Gilly’ Gill. A huge part of our Street Soccer Project, Club Coaching, Match day team and Holiday Programmes. Gilly is also helping me with the web based side of things at the club and over the coming weeks we should see our Facebook profile growing.

Liam Reid. Liam delivers School coaching sessions, Street Soccer and is part of our match day team. A very valued member of the team and has made the Match day Experience a very successful part of the initiative.

Sam Stephens and Gareth Smith. Sam and Gareth are involved in some of the school coaching and Street Soccer. Two excellent young coaches and good additions to the team.

There is my team and I hope you find that we are working hard to ensure a successful relationship between the club and the local community.
