Dallas based Bluebirds owner Paul Casson took over the club in 2014. Under his ownership the Bluebirds were promoted to the Vanarama National League and achieved a fantastic 7th place finish.
Latest programme notes v Brackley Town:
It’s Tuesday night, and we entertain Brackley in a replay of our second round FA Trophy tie, so welcome.
I am missing the wisdom of the early rounds of this tournament. The vast majority of non-league football is part time. One has to feel for our Cumbrian neighbours Workington. Traveling all the way to Weston Super Mare….to come home and do it all over again. Oh wait, we have to do that also, not Weston Super Mare, but not Preston either.
Our opponents this evening must come all the way from Brackley on a Tuesday, presumably missing large quantities of work. Their potential reward, another far flung adventure to some hinterland of the former empire. Oh, Wembley beckons in the distance, but a very long way in the distance. In the meantime, there is Weston, or Gateshead, or Sutton, or Billericay, or Workington, or Dover, or some other expeditionary destination.. its not possible this year, but one year we will have, Blyth Spartans vs Truro.
Actually Truro versus Barrow is one of those places Steve Herbert would think it a noble pursuit to hitch hike too. He is of course, quite mad, but it it is an undertaking well worth supporting, so let’s all get behind him. Maidstone this time, just around the corner, from Ady Pennocks house that is .
If, by any chance, you have travelled from Brackley to Barrow this evening, very well done. Take this program to our club shop and they will give you one of our club scarves. You may never wear it, except in secret, and we will never tell.
Oh, and good luck with your efforts, the sharp end of the season is in front of you. You almost cost us ours a couple of years ago, but we are a forgiving lot, so welcome.
