News of a new contract for Club Captain Josh Granite!
We are delighted to announce that Captain Josh Granite has signed a new deal with the Bluebirds! The one year deal includes a further one year option and sees the Skipper join the growing list of players who have committed their future to the club.
Born in Wakefield, Josh began his career with Woodley Sports as a junior before playing with Mellor in the Lancashire and Cheshire League and also for Sheffield Hallam University.
He joined Mossley in August 2014 from Stockport Sports and made an immediate impression. In the summer of 2015 he moved on to Trafford where he spent two seasons and at the end of the second one he won numerous player of the year awards. In August 2017 he joined Ashton United and he was one of their key players as they won promotion to Vanarama North at the end of the 2017-18 season.
He joined Barrow in May 2018 and after being made Club Captain, he made his debut on the opening day of the season against Havant & Waterlooville. He has featured regularly for the Bluebirds this season and was last in action on Monday when we recorded a 1-0 Easter win over Hartlepool in front of a bumper crowd at the Furness Building Society Stadium.
