Club Statement: Barrow v Dover Athletic

A club statement following today’s postponement.

Following the postponement of today’s game, the thoughts of all at Barrow AFC are first and foremost with the family and friends of the person killed in the incident at Milton Keynes earlier today – such a tragic incident truly puts a game of football into perspective.

It goes without saying that everyone at the club was devastated following the postponement of our clash with Dover, after so much time, effort and hard work went into preparing what was set to be a special day in front of a bumper crowd at the Progression Solicitors Stadium.

The manager and players were also deeply disappointed with the postponement as they looked forward to carrying on their fantastic run of form which could have seen them break further club records.

We would like to place on record our thanks to all of our staff, the Bluebirds Trust, the Furness Multicultural Society and everyone else who played a part in the preparations for today. We are sure they are all as disappointed as we are, but we look forward to continuing to work together to encourage bumper crowds and fantastic days out at Barrow AFC.
