The hero of our dramatic FA Cup fixture against Nuneaton back in 2002 has backed the Bluebird Trusts latest virtual raffle!

Neil Tarrant sparked incredible scenes at Holker Street when he completed an amazing come back in stoppage time, with the Bluebirds overturning a 3-1 half time scoreline to win 4-3 in the dying seconds.

After a 1-1 draw at Manor Park, we welcomed Nuneaton for a Tuesday night replay which turned out to be another close affair in front of 1,919 supporters.

We found ourselves 2-0 down early on, before Neil scored the first of his two goals in the 36th minute. The visitors re-gained their two goal lead on the stroke of half time with both teams already down to ten men.

Graham Anthony become the first hero of the evening when he scored two second half goals to level the game, the equaliser coming with just two minutes of normal time remaining.

It seemed like extra-time beckoned, however Tarrant became the stoppage time hero as he fired a 25 yard screamer into the top corner in stoppage time to spark wild scenes on both the pitch and terraces.

The win set us on an FA Cup journey all the way to the second round when we bowed out to Football League side Shrewsbury Town.
