Manager Ian Evatt gave us his reaction after tonight’s draw with Wrexham.
The Bluebirds will feel they could have got all three points at the Furness Building Society Stadium with some good chances to score, particularly in the first half, but nonetheless it was a solid point – building on our win against Aldershot at the weekend.
Manager Ian Evatt was pleased with his side after a good performance:
“Wrexham are a good side but I thought first half we were the better side and had the better chances – we should have been ahead at the break. Second half they threw more at us, but I didn’t think we ever looked like conceding.
We’ve had a suspension in Dan Jones and an injury with Brian at half time but the lads have come in and done well. We kept a good structure, had a good balance, defensively we looked strong and the midfield worked their socks off.
Four points in two games after the run we were on is very pleasing.
We’ve still got players to come back too with Rhys (Turner) and Matty (Elsdon) missing out today and Dan (Jones) back available on Saturday. It causes difficult selection decisions, but that’s what you want as manager.
Now we need to go to Braintree and win.”
