Match Preview – Macclesfield (A)

All you need to know as we travel to face Macclesfield Town in the Vanarama National League.

Macclesfield Town v Barrow
Saturday 10th March
3:00pm
Moss Rose

Team News:

Manager Ady Pennock has a fully fit squad to choose from, with the exception of injured winger David Fitzpatrick.

Lewis Walters is eligible to play for the Bluebirds after he resigned on loan until the end of the season on Friday.

Macclesfield’s Recent Form:

Like the Bluebirds, Macclesfield have been frustrated by recent postponements with away games at Maidstone and Boreham Wood having to be rearranged for later in the season.

Whilst their game at Boreham Wood fell foul to the weather, in an unusual situation, the game at Maidstone was postponed due to the home team being unable to make it to the ground due to closures on the motorway, despite Macclesfield already being at the Gallagher Stadium!

Last 3 league games:

Macclesfield Town 1-0 Maidenhead

Tranmere 1-4 Macclesfield Town

Aldershot Town 1-2 Macclesfield Town

Barrow’s Recent Form:

It seems like forever since we last had a game, and indeed it has been 2.5 weeks since we were held to a draw against Gateshead at the Furness Building Society Stadium.

We head to face the league leaders on the back of a mini three game unbeaten run before the weather struck, with a win away at Maidstone sandwiched between home draws with Sutton United and Gateshead.

Last 3 league games:

Barrow 1-1 Gateshead

Maidstone United 0-1 Barrow

Barrow 1-1 Sutton United

Last Time Out:

The Bluebirds tasted victory on their last visit to Moss Rose, despite playing half an hour with ten men. Akil Wright was sent off on the hour mark, but just 6 minutes later Richie Bennett fired home a penalty to send the travelling Barrow fans home happy.
