We turn the spotlight on Saturday's League Two action with a full and in-depth preview of Stevenage's visit to The Dunes Hotel Stadium.

In Opposition
Stevenage enjoyed a fine run of form during January which has helped put some distance between themselves and the League Two danger zone.

Experienced boss Paul Tisdale will know there is still plenty of work to be done but their results in the opening period of 2022 have seen him shortlisted for the division’s Manager of the Month gong.

There as a dent to their momentum on Tuesday night when they were beaten 1-0 by Bradford City in what was just their fourth home league defeat of the campaign.

Now Boro are having to refocus for a tricky period of fixtures which will see them play three of their next four away from The Lamex Stadium.

One To Watch
Luke Norris was forced to sit out Stevenage’s midweek defeat to Bradford City through injury but they’ll be hoping he’s not out too long because his goals could be crucial during the run-in.

The former Brentford trainee has hit the net nine times in all competitions for Boro this term, including a run of scoring in four successive games during their recent good run in January.

He’s the club’s top scorer in 2021/22 and if he does get the nod to start at The Dunes Hotel Stadium on Saturday then The Bluebirds defence will need to keep a close eye on him.

Head To Head
Barrow are still awaiting their first home victory over this weekend’s visitors with their only previous triumphs coming away from home in 1999 and in the FA Trophy Final in 2010.

Last season The Bluebirds welcomed Stevenage on the opening day of the season in what was a historic game for the Club following their return to the EFL after a 48-year absence.

Dior Angus’ first half penalty looked to have set Barrow on the way to victory only for Stevenage to be awarded a late spot-kick of their own which was tucked away by former Bluebirds, Inih Effiong.

Referee
Experienced official Darren Handley has been appointed to oversee Saturday’s game against Stevenage in what will be his first visit of the season to The Dunes Hotel Stadium.

Handley has been on the EFL’s list of referees since 2014 but missed the whole of last season before getting back out in the middle at the start of 2022.

His most recent outing came in midweek when he presided over Mansfield Town’s 2-1 win over Colchester United at One Call Stadium.
