The incident which led to Sam Hird's red card

Sam Hird will be free to play in Saturday’s game against Salford City after a successful appeal against his midweek red card at Morecambe.

The centre-back was sent-off just 15 minutes in to Tuesday's encounter at The Mazuma Stadium after being adjudged to have denied a goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball.

However, David Dunn immediately signalled his intention to appeal against the decision and the Club has now received confirmation that The Football Association has upheld that appeal.

The red card will now be rescinded from Hird's record and he will now be in contention to face The Ammies this weekend.
