Team News: Scunthorpe United v Barrow

14 December 2020

We take a look at the latest team news ahead of Tuesday’s game at Sands Venue Stadium (7pm kick-off).

Connor Brown will not be available for the midweek trip to Scunthorpe United as he serves a one-game suspension following his red card in Saturday’s defeat at Crawley Town.

Brad Barry (hamstring) and Mike Jones (Achilles) are both likely to remain sidelined, while the game is set to come too soon for Lewis Hardcastle as he builds fitness after an ankle problem.

James Jones could come in to contention for a return after being part of Barrow’s travelling party at Crawley; the centre-back has been missing since the start of October with an ankle injury.

Front man Courtney Baker-Richardson is making good progress after his surgery and isn’t too far away from a return to full training.

Iron boss Neil Cox made five changes to his starting line-up for the weekend game against Southend United and must decide whether to shuffle his pack once again following the 1-0 loss at Roots Hall.

Forward Kevan van Veen won’t be available after a scan showed a tear in his hamstring which means he faces around ten weeks on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, defender Harrison McGahey was forced off with a hamstring injury during Scunthorpe’s 1-0 home defeat to Colchester United last Tuesday so is also a doubt to face The Bluebirds.
