Winner Drawn In Connor Brown Medal Raffle

16 December 2020

BBC Radio Cumbria commentator Adam Johnson has said he will donate Connor Brown’s medal back to the Club after winning it in a raffle which raised nearly £2000 for the Furness Christmas Appeal.

Kind-hearted Bluebirds star Brown wanted to give something back to the local community this Christmas and offered to give up his treasured National League winners medal for a festive raffle.

Barrow fans responded incredibly to snap up hundreds of tickets and help raise a staggering £1905 which will now be donated to the Furness Christmas Appeal this week.

Winner of the medal, Adam – who commentates on Barrow games for BBC Radio Cumbria and iFollow - immediately took to social media to confirm that he planned to gift the medal back to Brown or donate it to be displayed in the Fan Zone.

“I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who got behind this,” said Community Trust Manager, Craig Rutherford, who conducted the draw live on Facebook on Wednesday afternoon.

“A big thank you to Connor because it’s an incredible gesture and I know the money raised is going to have a huge impact on somebody’s Christmas.”

The Furness Christmas Appeal is committed to ensuring that young people who have previously been in care but are now living independently receive some gifts this festive season.
