Mike Jones Joins Barrow

Highly rated and experienced midfielder Mike Jones has joined The Bluebirds.

Jones has over 300 Football League appearances to his name and arrives at the Progression Solcitors Stadium following a four year spell at Cumbrian rivals Carlisle United.

Born in Birkenhead, Mike rose through the youth ranks at his local side Tranmere Rovers, going on to make his first team debut against Doncaster Rovers in 2006.

A loan spell at Shrewsbury followed, before a succesful four year spell at Bury where he played nearly 150 times. Sheffield Wednesday then came knocking, with Mike sealing a move to Yorkshire in January 2012 for an undisclosed fee.

After six months at Hillsbrough a move to Crawley was on the Cards, spending two years there and scoring four goals in eighty-two appearances.

A move back up north came in 2014 with a switch to Boundary Park to play for Oldham, followed by a move to Carlisle in the summer of 2016.

He spent four years at Carlisle before leaving Brunton Park earlier this year and he joins us on a two year deal.
