Barrow AFC can now confirm that we have been awarded the Vanarama National League title by virtue of unweighted points-per-game.
Following a vote by all National League, National League North and National League South clubs, a league resolution has been passed which sees the Bluebirds promoted to the Football League for the 2020/21 season.
Barrow's points-per-game average was 1.89.
Whilst everyone at the football club would have liked to have completed our return to the Football League on the pitch, backed in person by our incredible supporters, the current situation both at home and abroad has made that impossible.
However, that does not change the fact that this title is testament to the hard work put in from everybody at the football club. From the board of directors, manager and players to our match day staff, volunteers and of course our supporters, everyone has truly played their part in ensuring that the impossible dream could come true.
The Bluebirds have been top of the National League since our 3-0 triumph at Notts County on the 16th November and huge credit must be given to Ian Evatt and his side for an incredible season. Their incredible performances over many months has restored pride in our club and has put Barrow AFC back on the footballing map.
Finally, this title wouldn't have been possible without your support both at home and on the road, be it a Tuesday night at Dover or New Years Day at AFC Fylde. This journey, which is still only just beginning, has already created some unforgettable moments and memories with a bond between players and supporters that has been the root cause of our success.
Everybody at Barrow AFC looks forward to resuming our journey together when it is safe to do so and we hope you all stay safe and well in the meantime.
We'll see you in the Football League!
