Chief Executive Update: Match Programmes

3 November 2020

The Club's Chief Executive, Levi Gill, provides more details about our plans for the Matchday Programme.

In my Club update on Monday, I gave notice that unfortunately we weren’t able to maintain large print runs for our Matchday Programme until such time as crowds return. At that point we will review the situation again. I’d like to give a little more detail now on how we want to proceed and what this means for those of you who still want to get your hands on a copy of our Programme, including our existing subscribers.

Existing programme subscribers will continue to receive hard copies of each home league Programme, delivered to them in the usual way. In addition, we’re extending the opportunity for others to join the subscription service until midday on Sunday 8th November. You can take up a Programme subscription on our Online Store now by clicking here. Please note that the subscription price has now been reduced to take into account the games which have already passed and for which you will not receive a copy as part of any new subscription.

We currently have 28 subscribers, which will hopefully increase in the coming days. We can order Programmes in increments of 50, so we are likely to be ordering either 50 or 100 Programmes for each game moving forward, depending on the final number of subscribers we have on Sunday afternoon. Those Programmes which are ‘spare’ (i.e. not allocated to subscribers) will be made available on the Online Shop on a first come, first served basis each week.

So, what this all means is that if you want to guarantee a hard copy Programme for every home league game this season, you can via a subscription. If you want to take your chances on a weekly basis with the surplus stock, you can do that too. Or you can await further details on the new Digital Programme, which we will be offering alongside the subscriptions. Hopefully, this gives fans sufficient opportunity to pick the appropriate option for them while allowing the Club to reduce costs at this difficult time.

I understand that several fans are used to coming in-store for their Programmes or making bespoke arrangements with our team, but unfortunately the only way to order Programmes moving forward will be online, and they must be paid for at the point of sale. Delivery by post from the Club will be the only option to receive them.

Saturday’s FA Cup game will see a slimmed down Programme made available on a limited print run from our Online Store - we'll be making pre-ordering possible very soon. However, we will not be producing one for Tuesday’s Papa John’s Trophy fixture against Accrington Stanley.

Please direct any queries to office@barrowafc.com and we’ll be more than happy to address them.
