It Was The Least We Deserved - Dunn

14 November 2020

David Dunn admitted his delight after seeing Barrow rescue an injury-time draw at Cambridge United but then insisted they had deserved all three points.

The Bluebirds boss paid tribute to the way his players stuck to their gameplan and refused to panic as they went chasing an equaliser against a side who are sitting second in the table.

“If I am being honest, we’re unlucky not to win the game.

“The way we played was excellent and all credit to the players because everything we’re working on in training you can see and we passed the ball ever so well.

“Cambridge are a good side and you can see why they are where they are but I thought we dictated play today for large parts.

“Fair play to the lads because it took a lot of character to stick in. It would have been quite easy to go a bit more direct but we carried on playing the way I think football should be played and we got our just rewards at the end.

“I felt we deserved to win but to see that goal go in is great – it’s a fantastic feeling, especially coming away to the team second in the league and getting a good point.”
