Brown Donates Winner's Medal To Christmas Appeal

27 November 2020

Fans now have the unique opportunity to win Connor Brown’s National League winner’s medal after the kind-hearted Barrow star donated it to raise money for the Furness Christmas Appeal.

Brown wrote his name in to Bluebirds history last term as part of the squad that claimed back a Football League spot for the Club for the first time in almost 50 years.

Now the defender has offered up his prized winner's medal in order to raise money to support youngsters in the local area who are likely to spend this Christmas alone and without family contact.

Brown is passionate about the cause and hopes that Barrow fans can rally behind him in his efforts to help ensure the young people involved aren’t forgotten about this festive season.

“This is an initiative that is very close to my heart,” he explained.

“My mum has fostered children for over 15 years now and I only hope that in donating my medal I can help provide some happiness for some young people in Barrow.”

We’ve now made Brown’s medal available in a special raffle which will run until 4pm on Friday 11th December.

Tickets are priced at £5 each and you will be emailed confirmation of your number. We’ll advertise the winner here on the Official Website and contact them directly after the draw.

Barrow AFC Community Trust Manager, Craig Rutherford, added: “We are so proud to support Connor’s fantastic gesture, it’s an amazing thing for him to do to help support such a worthy cause.

“Once the money is raised, we look forward to purchasing a variety of gifts that will hopefully bring some positivity over the festive period to people who may need that little lift.”
