David Dunn has moved in to the transfer market to strengthen his defensive options with the acquisition of highly-rated centre-back Yoan Zouma.
The French defender has spent the last two seasons on the books at Bolton Wanderers where he made a big impression during 2019/20, making 23 First Team appearances.
Still only 22, Zouma – the brother of Chelsea star Kurt – comes highly recommended and Dunn has moved quickly to snap up a player who has been on his radar for some time.
“Yoan played in League One last year and he’s a player I have been aware of because I’ve watched him over the last couple of seasons,” Dunn explained.
“He has some really good attributes; he’s quick, he defends the space in behind really well and I feel like we have got another player in who is going to be really good for the future.”
Zouma has been handed squad number 18 and will go straight in to contention for a Bluebirds debut in this weekend’s Cumbrian derby at Carlisle United.
