The season finally gets under way for Barrow’s Under-21s this week when Fulwood Amateurs visit Holker Old Boys’ Handmark Engineering Stadium (7.45pm kick-off).
Although the final squad for the season will be selected at the end of the month, there are a number of last season’s group selected for the first game.
Striker Tyler Spence and winger Jack Milburn both featured for the First Team last season, whilst Goalkeeper Jay Barker, defenders Luke Mitchell and Clayton Keane team up with Ben Stoker, Luke Armstrong and Harry Cowley for another campaign.
Theo Dreghorn makes the move from AFC Fylde, with the Millom First Teamer in line to make his debut alongside former Morecambe Academy youngster Brennan Molyneux.
No fewer than six of last season’s Under-16s make the first squad, with four of them having already got some Under-21s experience under their belts during 2019/20.
Last season’s captain Christian Sloan has left the Club, making a permanent move to Lancaster City, whilst midfielder Jamie Hodgson, who featured in the 7-0 win against FC Utd of Manchester in the FA Trophy last season, makes the move to Kendal Town.
The Club is delighted to have Holker Old Boys provide the home venue for the Under-21s this season and will visit the venue three times in the opening four weeks of the new campaign.
Spectators are welcomed with a donation on the gate and the bar will be open.
Please note that Covid-19 restrictions are in place, both inside and at pitch side, with test and trace in operation, and masks mandatory inside the bar area until you seat yourself at one of the tables.
