James Jones Set For Spell On Sidelines

8 October 2020

James Jones is set for a spell on the sidelines after a scan revealed he had injured ankle ligaments during Saturday’s game at Carlisle United.

The defender fell awkwardly early on in the second half at Brunton Park and had lengthy treatment before being stretchered from the pitch.

Jones was sent for a scan on the injury on Monday and the results have confirmed damage to his left ankle which means he will now face a spell out of action.

“We’re really disappointed for James because he had started the season so well,” admitted boss David Dunn.

“He’s slotted in really well since joining us in the summer, but we’ll make sure he gets the best medical treatment now and hopefully see him back in action as soon as possible.

“As ever in football, that provides an opportunity for someone else to come in and show what they can do so that’s what we’ll be looking for at the weekend.”
