Let's Show Our Quality - Dunn

9 October 2020

David Dunn has urged his players to go and show everybody how good they are by embarking on a winning run to fire them up the formative League Two table.

The Bluebirds boss has been frustrated that his side have too often not taken the points they have deserved from games so far this season and he wants that to change this weekend when they host Leyton Orient.

Home performances have given Dunn plenty to be encouraged about in the opening weeks of the new campaign and now he is keen for the players to underline that with three points on Saturday.

“Every team will in this league will be dangerous – there are so many different styles,” Dunn told iFollow.

“Orient will try and play so we need to try and stop them. We just need to be prepared for anything the opposition throws at us and then it will be about us and how much quality we have.

“I watch these lads every day in training and it’s a good group with lots of good footballers, so we need to start showing that now.

“I feel we should have more points on the board than we do but that’s football and it’s no good me standing here talking about what we should have done – we need to put some wins together.”

Dunn made ten changes to his line-up for Monday evening’s EFL Trophy meeting with Leeds United Under-21s and saw the team come from two goals down to claim two points from the game.

Now he has to decide whether any of those players who starred against Leeds did enough to force their way in to his starting eleven for The O’s visit to The Progression Solicitors Stadium.

“There were some really good performances so that has certainly given me some decisions to make for Saturday,” he admitted.

“We will have to pick it all up and see how everyone’s bodies are, then we will pick a team to go and win against Leyton Orient.”
