David Dunn has further bolstered his attacking options with the permanent signing of exciting young French striker Dimitri Sea.
The 19-year-old was most recently on the books at Aston Villa where he got among the goals for their Under-23s after being brought over to England in 2017.
Villa fought off competition from several clubs in Sea’s homeland when they snapped him up three years ago after he impressed during a short trial with the Midlands club.
The talented front man was the latest in a line of stars to emerge from renowned French amateur outfit Athletic Club Boulogne-Billancourt, who are also responsible for nurturing the likes of Allan St Maximin and Hatem Ben Arfa.
Sea was released by Villa during the summer and he was subsequently invited to train with the Barrow squad in recent weeks, doing enough to convince boss Dunn to offer him a contract.
“He’s looked really sharp in training for the last couple of weeks, so we’re pleased to get the deal done,” explained Dunn.
“We have obviously spoken to the people at Villa about him and they have told us just how big a prospect he was there at one stage so we’re really looking forward to working with him.
“It gives us more options up front after we’ve also managed to bring in Jayden Reid so hopefully both of them can have a real impact for us going forward now.”
Sea has been handed squad number 26 and will go straight in to contention to be involved in Tuesday night’s Sky Bet League Two game at Mansfield Town.
