Dior Angus has admitted that the players will only be able to take pride from their display at Derby County once the disappointment of defeat has subsided.
The front man blasted home a confident penalty in the shootout at Pride Park but ultimately it was The Rams who edged through the tie in to the Second Round of the Carabao Cup.
“There’s a bit of disappointment when you take it that far and lose against a team like that, especially on penalties – but it wasn’t to be,” he told iFollow Bluebirds.
“I think we will reflect on it in time once that disappointment shifts a little and think that we gave a good account of ourselves.
“The lads looked fit and we coped well – and we had two chances in the first half so if we take them it could have been a different game.”
