Brad Barry insisted that Barrow could hold their heads high after opening up their League Two campaign with a point against Stevenage on Saturday.
David Dunn’s men looked on course to grab the win after Dior Angus put them in front from the penalty spot early on but Inih Effiong levelled with Stevenage’s own penalty five minutes from time.
However, Barry is adamant that the disappointment at not collecting maximum points should not overshadow a solid start to life at a new level for The Bluebirds.
“We’ve got a point on the board, we didn’t come away with nothing and it’s a massive start for Barrow,” he told iFollow Bluebirds.
“We need to set an example because we’re not here just to have a little kickaround – we’re here to prove to everyone why we’re here.”
