We're On The Right Path - Dunn

26 September 2020

David Dunn was full of praise for his players as they produced another high-energy performance to take a point from Saturday’s meeting with Colchester United.

The Bluebirds boss still thinks there is more room for improvement but is happy with the way his squad are developing during the opening weeks of the new campaign.

Mike Jones atoned for a first half error which led to The U’s opening goal by lashing in an early Goal of the Season contender after the break and Barrow were unfortunate not to go on and win in the end.

“I thought we were very good,” Dunn told iFollow.

“Out of possession we were excellent; we really pressed Colchester and, if we’re being honest, I don’t think we’ll come up against many better front lines than theirs.

“We created some really good chances when we were on top, we hit the post and I thought we looked a threat all afternoon.

“I think we made one mistake in the first half and we seem to be getting punished for every one at the minute but we were excellent, other than that.

“It was great to see that when we went behind, we had the strength of character to bounce back and get back in the game – we were unlucky not to go on and take all three points.

“It was a fantastic strike for our goal, I don’t think you’ll see too many better than that.

“I think we’re on the right path and I was really pleased with all the performances out there today.”
