Our team of walkers are quickly closing in on 800 miles as the pace quickens in the Club’s 1901 Miles In April charity challenge to raise money for The British Heart Foundation.
A squad of 19 – including representatives from the Board, staff and players – have set themselves the goal of hitting the milestone of 1901 miles during the month to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
It all came about following the devastating news that Barrow star Lewis Hardcastle had been forced to retire from professional football after being diagnosed with a genetic heart condition.
So far, our intrepid pavement pounders have racked up just short of 800 miles, but they will face a challenging final fortnight as they aim to break in to four figures and storm onwards to 1901.
If you want to help inspire them during their challenge then you can sponsor them on a dedicated page set-up for fundraising with all money going directly to The British Heart Foundation.
