Disabled Supporters' Association To Hold First Meeting

9 August 2021

The first official meeting of the newly formed Barrow AFC Disabled Supporters’ Association will take place in the Fan Zone at 6pm on Thursday 12th August.

The meeting comes after a thorough consultation period, during which fans fed into a report to the Club’s Directors regarding the improvement of facilities at Holker Street.

The financing for the changes has been magnificently supported by the fundraising efforts of the recent 24-Hour football match.

All fans are welcome to join the Barrow Disabled Supporters’ Association (BDSA) and are invited to join us in the Fan Zone for Thursday’s meeting.

“We’d welcome as many people as possible to come and join us on Thursday,” explained Stephen Forbes, one of the meeting organisers.

“We want people to come and get more information about the Association and get involved – we really want that input from everyone.

“It’s great that the Football Club is looking to improve facilities for disabled supporters and I think that was reflected in seeing more disabled supporters enjoying the game against Bolton Wanderers.

“It will be an ongoing process to try and improve an old ground but, with the help of the Club and working together with disabled fans, we hope to enhance the experience of attending matches at Holker Street for all.”
