Matchday Guide: Scunthorpe United

9 August 2021

Everyone at the Club would like to thank supporters who attended the pre-season friendly against Bolton Wanderers last month, both for their support and their co-operation in the face of changing procedures.

“I was really delighted to see fans back watching football at a revamped Holker Street,” admitted Trust Director, Steve Herbert.

“As a result of promotion to the EFL, the Club has some new procedures for supporters to get used to and we have all worked very hard behind the scenes to ensure the transition is as easy as possible.”

COVID-19 Advice
The Club is repeating its request for supporters attending Tuesday evening’s game to exercise respect and consideration for those around them.

We are recommending that you continue to follow advice on COVID-19 protocols where possible to ensure we can offer as safe and welcoming an environment for all fans as possible.

Tickets
All tickets for the Carabao Cup game against Scunthorpe United must be purchased in advance as there will be no availability for home or away supporters directly on the turnstiles.

Fans of both clubs are strongly advised to buy their tickets in advance online – this is a simple and straightforward process, and you can either print your e-ticket or simply show it on your smartphone at the turnstile.

Tickets will be available on the day (card payment only) to both Barrow and Scunthorpe fans. You can buy from Main Reception from 2pm and then from the Ticket Booth in the Fan Zone from 6pm.

Click here for full information on buying tickets for the game.

Access To The Fan Zone
Fans who would like to visit the Fan Zone prior to kick-off are advised to make their way directly to it rather than go through the turnstiles as you will not be able to access it from inside the stadium.

The Fan Zone will open at 6pm until kick-off and then be closed after the game, though fans will be able to get a drink in The Cross Bar which will be open until 11pm.

We are continuing to look at ways of reducing queueing but one of the main issues is staffing – if you are interested in some part-time work then please get in touch on recruitment@barrowafc.com

General
Holker Street is a no smoking stadium. Smoking, including vaping, is not permitted in any area of the ground.

Disabled Parking
Please remember that parking on the Popular Side is once accessible to disabled supporters. If you are a blue badge holder or have mobility issues than please get in touch with our Disability Liaison Officer, Steve Herbert, on s.herbert@barrowafc.com

“We have a dedicated team to support our younger and more vulnerable fans,” explained newly-appointed Designated Safeguarding Officer, Kelly Moxham.

“You will see signs around the ground informing supporters of where and how to report any concerns they may have.

“Fans can contact us via email on concerns@barrowafc.com, use the Reporting Concerns link in our Safeguarding Section of the Official Website (click here) or by telephone on 01229 666 010 during normal office hours.”
