We are saddened to announce that Mark Hetherington has decided to step down as a Director of Barrow AFC and will also no longer be an active investor in the Club.
Mark was instrumental, alongside Paul Hornby, in pulling together the current owners group in late 2018 and has made a significant contribution to the progress of the Club both on and off the pitch since then.
His energy, knowledge and enthusiasm will be missed at the Club, but he understandably feels that he needs to concentrate on the health challenges he faces personally and also those of his family.
We would like to wish Mark well in those challenges and also thank him for all he has done for the Club.
Mark and his family will always be welcome at Barrow AFC and, in recognition of his contribution, he will now become a Life Patron of the Club.
Following confirmation of Mark’s departure, Paul Hornby and the owners will be actively seeking a new member to join the ownership group, willing to acquire a 10% shareholding, and would welcome enquiries from interested parties.
