New loan signing Tom Davies has admitted he can’t wait to pull on a Barrow shirt for the first time and begin helping The Bluebirds climb the League Two table.
The experienced centre-back arrived at The Progression Solicitors Stadium on Monday afternoon after agreeing a temporary switch from Bristol Rovers which will run until the end of May.
Davies is excited to be given the chance to put a challenging spell out through injury firmly behind him as he links up with Michael Jolley’s men with clear targets in mind.
“I am buzzing to be here,” the 28-year-old told iFollow.
“I heard about the interest two weeks ago, spoke to the Manager a couple of times and got things sorted at the Bristol so I was buzzing to come here and hopefully it gives me a platform to play football, which is something I desperately need at the minute.
“I spoke to a lot of Managers and many of them ticked all the boxes for me but here at Barrow it’s a chance for me to really get back playing and I had a real belief in what the Manager said and a complete trust in what he told me.
“I have never really been a player who is happy just to sit around in lower or mid table and keep churning out games – I want to kick up the table and hopefully achieve something.
“It’s a case of getting away from the danger zone, consolidation and then who knows what you can do? We’re only 13 points off the play-offs and that sounds a long shot but we’re only halfway through the season.
“There is no point in looking back; we are assembling a good squad and all we can do is look forward.”
