Club Appoints New Commercial Manager

6 June 2021

The Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Jamie Stoddart as our new Commercial Manager.

Jamie arrives at Barrow having previously excelled in the role of Business Development Manager at Oldham Athletic and brings a wealth of experience to the Club’s commercial operations.

After working as a PE teacher and a production planner in glass manufacture, Jamie cut his teeth in the commercial world when he was appointed Brand/Marketing Manager at Sports 360, one of Britain’s leading sports advertising agencies.

“I’m the happiest man in football right now,” said Jamie.

“From the first conversations I had with Levi, and then Tony and Paul, it was apparent that, not only is Barrow AFC the perfect fit for me, but more importantly, the people are.

“We are very much on the same page in terms of how we see the successful operation of a commercial department and ultimately, a football club, and the Club I’ve walked into is one that has been so welcoming and is very much on the front foot.

“I’m excited to get out into the community and meet our valued, long term partners and I will be actively looking to bring new ones into the Club as well.

“I’m always reluctant to use the word ‘journey’ or ‘project,’ but something’s happening here, and the second you set foot inside The Progression Solicitors Stadium, you can feel it.

“I’ll just work to help the Club along in any way I can from a commercial standpoint and, no matter the size or type of your business, we’ve got room for everybody.

“We want all sponsors, partners and fans to feel a part of the Club and that their time with us is enjoyable and mutually beneficial, and I’ll toil day and night to make sure that happens.”

Jamie’s appointment has been welcomed by Bluebirds Chief Executive, Levi Gill, who says that it highlights once again that the Club is determined to continue growing on and off the field.

“I’m delighted that Jamie has agreed to take this position and very excited by what he brings to the team,” Gill explained.

“Central to what we’re trying to create at Barrow is a sense of ownership among fans, partners and the town. Everybody should share in the success that our owners are committed to delivering.

“Jamie brings a passion for working with the whole community and relevant experience of developing revenue streams at an EFL football club.

“Securing his appointment is another positive step toward establishing this Club as a sustainable member of the Football League.”
