Jason Taylor Accepts Player Coach Role

10 June 2021

Jason Taylor has agreed terms on a new two-year deal with Barrow which will see him join Mark Cooper’s staff as a Player Coach at The Progression Solicitors Stadium.

The 34-year-old has made over 100 appearances for the Club since arriving in the summer of 2018 and he played a key role as The Bluebirds won promotion from the National League in 2019/20.

Taylor was once again one of the star performers last term, producing some of his best form during the run-in to ensure that the Club preserved their League Two status.

With almost 600 senior games under his belt, Taylor has vast experience and will now look to take the next step in his career by combining a playing role with coaching duties.

“Jason is a player who has played against my teams lots of times,” explained boss Mark Cooper.

“I have always been impressed with his leadership and organisational qualities; he’s a winner and he’s someone who can definitely help us both on and off the pitch.

“He impressed me further when I spoke to him about the role, and he can provide us with a real insight into the squad and the way things work at Barrow.”
