Remeao Hutton Joins The Bluebirds

16 June 2021

Mark Cooper has clinched his fifth signing of the summer after versatile defender Remeao Hutton put pen to paper on a two-year deal at The Progression Solicitors Stadium.

The talented 22-year-old has agreed a switch to Barrow following his release from Championship outfit Birmingham City at the end of last season and adds further depth to Cooper’s Bluebirds squad.

Most comfortable as a wing-back, Hutton boasts a real flexibility to his game and can slot in on either flank or even in the centre of defence when required.

The former Walsall youngster gained his first senior experience with non-league sides Sutton Coldfield Town and Hednesford Town, but it was a loan spell at Walsall Wood which saw him really catch the eye.

His form drew the attention of Birmingham who took him on trial and then offered him a professional contract at St Andrew’s at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Hutton began playing regularly for their Under-23s but got more senior football under his belt when he joined Yeovil Town in 2019/20, helping The Glovers to reach the National League play-offs.

Last term he stepped up to League Two and starred on loan for Stevenage, making 26 league appearances for the Hertfordshire outfit as they enjoyed a midtable finish.

There were several offers on the table for the young defender when he was formally released by City after four years at the club, but it is Bluebirds boss Cooper who has now won the race for his signature.
