Cooper Clinches Deal For Joe Grayson

23 June 2021

Mark Cooper has completed his seventh signing of the summer after swooping to secure the services of highly rated young midfielder Joe Grayson from Blackburn Rovers.

The 22-year-old star has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with The Bluebirds following his release from Ewood Park at the end of the last term.

The son of current Fleetwood Town boss Simon Grayson, he is most comfortable playing in midfield but also has the versatility to slot into defence when required.

Grayson came through the ranks with Rovers where he was on the books from just eight-years-old, going on to make his professional debut for them in a 4-1 EFL Cup win over Lincoln City in 2018.

He gained extra senior experience with a loan spell at Grimsby Town in 2019 before spending the closing stages of last season starring in League One on loan at Oxford United.

Now he is ready to the take the next step in his career after leaving Blackburn, and new Barrow boss Cooper moved quickly to convince the youngster that his future lay with The Bluebirds.

Grayson becomes signing number seven for Cooper, following Mark Ellis, Paul Farman, Josh Gordon, Remeao Hutton, Tom White and Offrande Zanzala in joining the Club this summer.
