A date has now been confirmed for our Carabao Cup First Round tie against Scunthorpe United.
The two clubs have been in discussions since they were paired together in last week’s draw and have agreed to play the tie on Tuesday 10th August (7.45pm kick-off).
It means The Iron will form the opposition for Mark Cooper’s first home game in charge of The Bluebirds, three days after the new League Two season has kicked-off at Stevenage.
The fixture will also mark the first time that Barrow and Scunthorpe have ever met in cup competition – their previous 24 meetings dating back to the 1950s have all come in the league.
