Trust To Donate Raffle Proceeds To Hardcastle

26 March 2021

The Bluebirds Trust have announced that all proceeds from this Saturday’s half-time draw will be donated to Lewis Hardcastle following his retirement from professional football.

Barrow midfielder Hardcastle has been forced into early retirement upon medical advice, after investigations uncovered a previously unknown heart condition.

Teammate Brad Barry has unveiled a Go Fund Me page to help Hardcastle’s retirement fund and now the Supporters’ Trust have announced plans to back the popular midfielder too.

It’s another lovely gesture and highlights once more the esteem in which Hardcastle is held by supporters after he played a key role in last term’s promotion and wore the captain’s armband as the Club proudly returned to the Football League at the start of 2020/21.

“With the recent sad news that Lewis has had to retire, we are going to be celebrating ‘Hardcastle’s Highlights’ with this Saturday’s Russ’ Raffle,” the Trust confirmed on social media.

“All the proceeds will go to Lewis. Dig deep, like he always did on the pitch!”

Russ' Raffle is a half-time draw conducted by the Trust every Barrow matchday with a big cash prize going to the winner so make sure you buy your tickets this weekend and you can back Lewis Hardcastle as well as give yourself a chance of winning!
