Stevenage showed their classy side at the weekend by handing Lewis Hardcastle a signed shirt with his name on the back following news of his early retirement.
The Bluebirds star travelled with his teammates to The Lamex Stadium for the weekend game and was surprised by Stevenage boss Alex Revell, who presented him with the shirt.
The Stevenage players also showed their generosity prior to the fixture by donating to the Go Fund Me page set up by Brad Barry to support Hardcastle.
Midfielder Hardcastle was forced to announce his retirement from the professional game last week on medical advice, after he was diagnosed with a genetic heart condition.
