Barrow’s team of charity walkers have smashed through their target of 1901 Miles In April to help raise money and funds for The British Heart Foundation.
A squad of 19 members, including members of the Board, coaches, players and office staff, set themselves the challenge of covering 1901 miles during the month in a nod to the year of the club’s inception.
The campaign came about on the back of the terrible news that Bluebirds star Lewis Hardcastle had been forced to retire from professional football after being diagnosed with a genetic heart condition.
And so, our intrepid team set out to pound the pavements and bound over beaches in order to reach their milestone in this blister-beating charity challenge!
We’re pleased to report that they cruised past the 1901-mile target in perfect time – in fact, some members were able to clock up more than their 100-mile allocation in the process!
So far, their efforts have raised almost £800 for The British Heart Foundation but there is still time for you to help them increase that amount by donating what you can afford.
