Pick The Name Of Our Special Barrow Beer

3 November 2021

We’ve linked-up with Lakeland Brewhouse to devise a specially brewed beer to be sold at The Dunes Hotel Stadium this season – and Bluebirds fans now have the chance to pick a name for it!

The new beer has been developed and brewed for The Cross Bar and Fan Zone and you could be supping a pint within the next month but, first of all, we need to come up with a name.

The collaboration between The Bluebirds and leading Cumbrian brewery, Lakeland Brewhouse, will also see the brand new tipple available in bottles and in cask at local pubs and as part of gift sets in time for Christmas!

Fans now have the chance to play a historic role in its introduction – by thinking of a memorable name for the golden brew! And as part of the competition, the winner will not only scoop four cases of the yet-to-be-named nectar but also bag hospitality tickets for a Barrow game.

“It has been a fantastic season so far, with plenty of excitement on the pitch,” explained Barrow Commercial Manager, Jamie Stoddart.

“Behind the scenes, we have been putting a lot of time and energy into this fantastic collaboration with the guys at Lakeland Brewhouse and are very pleased with the results.

“Now it’s over to the fans to play a part in what will be a momentous occasion for the Club – the unveiling of our very own, specially brewed beer.”

The team at Lakeland Brewhouse spent weeks developing a perfectly balanced ale before moving into production – and every time a pint of beer is sold in The Cross Bar, the Club will receive a royalty.

Kirsty Ridge, Managing Director of the brewery, added: “Our talented team have developed, tested and brewed a beer that we hope will be a roaring success – but it’s missing a vital ingredient. A name.

“The beer is bright goals with a subtle fruit aroma and a crisp finish. It comes in at 4.3% and makes for a very pleasant pint.

“Now it’s over to the fans. We’re hopefully the beer will be on sale for many years to come so getting the right name is very important.

“Think beer, think football, think Barrow, think The Bluebirds – or wherever your imagination takes you. We can’t wait to hear people’s ideas.”

The competition will run until Sunday 7th November - click here to enter now.

It’s open to over-18s only and proof of age may be requested. Full terms and conditions can be found on the Lakeland Brewhouse Facebook page.
