Williams Suffers Suspected Fractured Collarbone

10 November 2021

Mark Cooper bemoaned George Williams’ bad luck after the Bluebirds star suffered a suspected fractured collarbone during Tuesday night’s game against Leicester City Under-21s.

The 26-year-old was helped from the pitch after just half an hour of the Papa John’s Trophy contest and will undergo further tests to determine the best course of action.

It’s a huge blow for Williams, who has already shown his ability since a switch to The Dunes Hotel Stadium in August and scored his first goal for the Club in last month’s draw at Walsall.

“He’s the unluckiest player I have met,” Cooper told iFollow after the game.

“He will be having an x-ray as quickly as possible and then there’ll be a decision about whether he needs an operation.

“We’re just having one of those spells where whatever we do, we seem to pick up injuries. All we can do is get on with it and make sure we look after George now.”
