There could be a more youthful tone to the vocal support given to the players at Saturday’s game after the Club linked-up up with the Community Trust to give away tickets to local school children.

The scheme has seen The Bluebirds throw open their doors to primary schools throughout the local area, allowing them to apply for free tickets to the weekend fixture against Crawley Town.

To make it even easier for families or school groups to take advantage, we also offered a free adult ticket for every ten children’s tickets taken up so that teachers and parents were also accommodated.

And the response has been phenomenal.

Almost 1,600 tickets have been snapped up using the scheme and our friends in the Community Trust have already been out and about this week to deliver them to schools!

“The take-up has been better than we could ever have hoped,” admitted the Club’s new Operations Manager, Alisha Henry.

“We want to encourage more young supporters to come and watch the team in action and it’s been fantastic to be able to work so closely with the Community Trust to help facilitate this.

“Hopefully this Saturday will not only see a bumper support getting behind Mark Cooper’s side but also lay the foundations for many of these youngsters to catch the Bluebirds bug and want to come back and support us on a regular basis.”

Community Trust Manager, Craig Rutherford is equally enthusiastic about the benefits of the campaign and is looking forward to seeing plenty of smiling faces on the terraces of The Dunes Hotel Stadium this weekend.

“I think the more we can encourage young people to come to the game the better,” he added.

“It’s a great initiative and hopefully the people who come along will have a great time and want to come back again to keep supporting the team.

“It’s great to see the Club continuing the work within the local community, whether that be through the Community Trust or by us supporting initiatives like these.”

The Club will be putting on happy meals in the Fan Zone for youngsters at the game to enjoy, while we’ve invited our very own mascot, Bluey, along to join the fun and entertain everyone on Saturday!

Enjoy the game, everyone!
