Luke James' Movember Fundraising Passes £2,000

29 November 2021

Bluebirds star Luke James has raised over £2,000 for men’s health charities by taking part in Movember – and there’s still time for you make a donation.

The front man announced his intention to ‘grow a mo’ in memory of his mother, who passed away from ovarian cancer during the summer, and his cousin, who took his own life just weeks later.

Since then, the donations have been rolling in for James – including an incredibly generous £500 within the first few hours of the appeal opening to blow away his original fundraising target.

James then set his sights on raising £2,000 and that figure was reached over the weekend – and fittingly it was former Barrow teammate, Joel Dixon, whose donation took it past the milestone!

“It’s just been an amazing response,” admitted James.

“I honestly didn’t expect to get anywhere near this amount, so I just want to say a big thank you to every single person who has donated during the past month.

“Obviously, this was quite a personal thing for me to open up about, but I am genuinely humbled by the response from supporters and it’s great to know that we’ve been able to make a little difference by raising this money and awareness.”

There is still time for you to add to James’ total by visiting his personal Movember page – and however big or small your donation, it will be hugely appreciated.
