We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Saturday’s League Two meeting at Vale Park (3pm kick-off).

Barrow boss Mark Cooper is set to welcome Ollie Banks back into contention for this weekend’s trip to face Port Vale in League Two.

The in-form midfielder was forced to sit out Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient through suspension after collecting five yellow cards but is now free to play against The Valiants.

Cooper also welcomed several players back into training this week, with Connor Brown (groin), Jamie Devitt (thigh), Luke James (foot) and Dimitri Sea (hamstring) all making tentative steps towards a return to action.

However, Tom Beadling (knee), Mike Jones (Achilles), Kgosi Ntlhe (knee) and Matt Platt (back) all remain in the treatment room as they battle back from their respective injuries.

Vale boss Darrell Clarke could have Aaron Martin available for selection after the defender returned from a back injury to feature in a midweek Reserves friendly against Leicester City.

Front man David Amoo also pressed his claims for a recall to the starting eleven by scoring the only goal in that game against The Foxes on Tuesday afternoon.
