Team News: Barrow v Scunthorpe United

18 October 2021

We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Tuesday evening’s Sky Bet League Two encounter at The Dunes Hotel Stadium (7.45pm kick-off).

Mark Cooper will run the rule over a number of players who are edging closer to returns after injury ahead of Tuesday night’s game against Scunthorpe United.

The Bluebirds boss has had to contend with a busy treatment room during the opening months of the campaign but there now finally appears to be some positive news on the injury front.

Connor Brown (groin), Jamie Devitt (thigh), Luke James (foot) and Dimitri Sea (hamstring) are all nudging back towards fitness but it’s yet to be seen how quickly any of them will be ready for match involvement.

Matt Platt (back) is also making good progress, but Tom Beadling (knee), Mike Jones (Achilles) and Kgosi Ntlhe (knee) remain a little further away from potential returns to action.

Scunthorpe boss Neil Cox was handed a boost by the return of defender Manny Onariase at the weekend after he overcame a hamstring injury to play in the defeat to Forest Green Rovers.

Harry Davis was forced off on Saturday after a stray elbow aggravated a head injury which kept him out of previous games, while Alfie Beestin was restricted to a substitute appearance due to illness.

Harry Bunn is close to making a return after ankle trouble, while Alex Perry (groin), Alex Kenyon (thigh) and Ross Millen (illness) will also be assessed ahead of the trip to Cumbria.
