Team News: Oldham Athletic v Barrow

3 September 2021

We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Saturday's League Two meeting at Boundary Park (3pm kick-off).

Mark Cooper looks likely to be without Kgosi Ntlhe for a spell after the defender injured ligaments in his knee during Tuesday’s Papa John’s Trophy tie at Accrington Stanley.

It’s a further blow for The Bluebirds boss who was already having to cope with a lengthy list of injuries, with Dimitri Sea closest to a return to fitness.

Tom Beadling (knee), Connor Brown (groin), Jamie Devitt (thigh), Luke James (foot), Mike Jones (Achilles) and Matt Platt (back) are all still in the treatment room and will play no part in the weekend game at Oldham.

Captain Mark Ellis will also be forced to sit out the trip to Boundary Park as he begins a three-game suspension following his red card in the draw with Bristol Rovers last weekend.

New signings Robbie Gotts and Jordan Stevens will both move into contention to make their Barrow debuts on Saturday after arriving at the Club on deadline day from Leeds United.

Latics boss Keith Curle made six changes to his line-up for the midweek Papa John’s Trophy win over Sutton United so must decide how to proceed on their return to league action on Saturday.

Curle looks set to be without influential midfielder Dylan Bahamboula after he linked-up with the Congo National squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Namibia and Senegal.

The hosts did not do any deadline day business but they did although defender Andrea Badan to leave the club by mutual consent this week.
